Troubleshooting tips

If you get an "Access Denied" message try clearing your cache.

If you need assistance with clearing your cache, follow the directions below.

How to clear Microsoft Teams' cache on your PC

1. Open the search menu on your PC and search for %appdata% Open the folder when it appears in the results.

2. Open the Microsoft folder, and then the Teams folder.

3. Here, you'll need to find and delete three specific folders: Cache, Code Cache, and GPUCache. Be sure to delete the folders themselves, and not just what's inside of them.

Don't worry about corrupting your Teams app — once you reopen Teams, it'll create the folders again, without anything inside.

Search %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\Cache

Delete Cache, Code Cache, and GPUCache folders

How to clear Microsoft Teams' cache on your Mac

On a Mac, most cached files are kept inside of the "Application Support" folder.

1. Open a Finder window and click Go at the top of the screen, and then Go to Folder

2. In the search box that opens, type and submit ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Teams

3. In the folder that opens, find and delete the Cache, Code Cache, and GPUCache. You can delete them by right-clicking, or by dragging them to the Trash icon in your dock.

The next time you open Teams, the folders will spawn again, totally empty.

Search ~/Library/ApplicationSupport/Microsoft/Teams

Delete the Cache, Code Cache, and GPUCache folders
